Gardiner Library presents Books and Art Series on Saturday December 4 at 11AM. Ages 4-6 step inside the picture book Frederick by Leo Lionni and try some of the art techniques used by this favorite author. Pre-registration is necessary and limited. Gardiner Library presents a Lady Pink retrospective

Gardiner Library hosts a retrospective of Lady Pink’s 40-year career as a legendary street artist in sorted imagery including reproductions of illustrations, paintings, newspapers, magazines and murals through December 31 in the library’s community room and foyer.
Lady Pink is a pioneer in the early 1980’s NYC based subway graffiti art movement. She has established herself in the fine arts and her paintings have entered important art collections in major museums around the world. Today she continues painting canvases, murals, inspiring and teaching younger generations.

Library hosts Terracycle recycling
Gardiner Library hosts a Terracycle Recycling Program through April 22 (Earth Day). The library will be collecting items (that often get thrown away), to be recycled and upcycled through the Terracycle Recycling Program. Clearly labeled collection boxes are in the library.
Please bring items that are empty, cleaned and dried to the best of your ability. Tubes may be cut and opened to clean more thoroughly.
Box #1 All brands of used or empty toothpaste tubes and caps, toothbrushes (not electric), toothpaste cartons, toothbrush outer packaging, and floss containers.
Box #2 All brands of blades and razors (systems and disposable units, and replaceable-blade cartridge units), rigid plastic packaging, and flexible plastic bag packaging.
Box #3 All brands of beauty product and skincare packaging, such as pump caps, hair spray triggers, lipstick cases, eyeliner pencils, and mascara tubes.
