City of Newburgh City Manager Todd Venning reports that Orange County is at a 5.3% positivity rate with COVID. As of Sept. 23, 86 new positive cases were reported in Orange County. There are 59 active cases in the City of Newburgh.

The city encourages city residents to get vaccinated and follow the CDC guidelines. The vaccine is available to U.S. residents for free regardless of health or immigration status. According to Venning, first time vaccine receivers are able to walk in and get the shot.

Residents can schedule free rides to and from their home. Residents can call (845) 569-7420 for that service. Orange County is still offering homebound individuals the vaccine if needed. Children ages 12-17 can now get the Pfizer vaccine shot.
