City to host work session and council meeting

The City of Newburgh Council Work Sessions and Regular Council Meetings will be conducted in a hybrid format to allow members of the public to attend in-person or virtually. All meetings will continue to be livestreamed via Zoom videoconference, the City’s website, and Facebook pages, as well as recorded. Both the recording and a transcript will be made available at a later date.

To access the Monday, October 12, 2021 Regular Council Meeting remotely at 7 p.m., join from a PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, or Android device by registering via the following URL https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_NiJK9nn5Q2agYmKb67x1iQ. Please fill out the required information (First Name, Last Name, Email Address). After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the regular council meeting. The public will have an opportunity to provide comments regarding the agenda and general matters of City business.

Members of the public who wish to provide comments regarding the agenda and general matters of City business, during the October 12, 2021 Council meeting may do so in-person at the Council Chambers in City Hall. Please be advised capacity in the Council Chambers is limited to 18 members of the public. Alternatively, to join the regular meeting remotely on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, members of the public can register via Zoom by 4 p.m. on October 12. The participation guidelines for public comment via Zoom is available via the City website at https://www.cityofnewburgh-ny.gov/580/How-to-Provide-Public-Comments-Via-Zoom.

Public comments regarding the agenda and general matters of City business can also be submitted via email to comments@cityofnewburgh-ny.gov with the Subject Line in this format: “PUBLIC COMMENT ITEM” by Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

On Thursday, October 14, 2021, a Grand Opening Event will be held at 12 p.m. for the Desmond Campus, located at 6 Albany Post Road, Newburgh, New York, 12550.

The Town of Newburgh received a grant from the William and Elaine Kaplan Family Private Foundation in September of 2020 to purchase this 29-acre property from Mount Saint Mary College.

In accordance with the late Mrs. Alice Desmond’s wishes, the Desmond Campus currently provides educational classes to seniors.
