The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan (CFOS) is proud to announce significant leadership changes, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter.
Rich Shapiro, Esq. has concluded his tenure as the Board Chairman of CFOS, serving from 2022 to 2024. A highly respected estate planning attorney and dedicated board director since 2007, Shapiro brought a deep understanding of the Community Foundation’s value to his role. Under his guidance, CFOS distributed nearly $8 million in charitable grants and scholarships, and the Foundation’s assets grew to an impressive $57.5 million. His leadership ensured exemplary board and committee engagement, continuing the legacy of distinguished board chairs since CFOS’s founding in 1999.
CFOS has announced Chris Corallo as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective July 1. Corallo has been a valued board member since 2012, contributing significantly as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer. As the Chief Financial Officer at Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, Corallo brings a wealth of expertise in finance, human resources, and operations. Along with his wife Sharon and their children, he gives back to the community and improves the lives of those around them.
After years of dedicated service and invaluable contributions, RJ Smith and Jerry Jacobowitz, Esq. esteemed members of the CFOS Board, are retiring and stepping into Emeriti positions. “RJ Smith and Jerry Jacobowitz, Esq. have been instrumental in the organization’s growth and success,” said Elizabeth Rowley, CFOS President and CEO. “As they transition to their Emeriti roles, we are excited to continue benefiting from their wisdom and experience in an advisory capacity.”
CFOS is pleased to welcome Marcia Jacobowitz, Esq. as the newest member of CFOS’s Board of Directors.
