Posted

On March 23 at approximately 12:57 p.m, Town of Newburgh Police responded to Walmart, 1201 Rt 300, for the report of a larceny in progress and the suspect was fighting with an officer. Apprehended at the scene was Jeffrey Odom, 33,  from Newburgh.

Police are familiar with Odom from 12 previous larcenies in 2023 alone, where he was either arrested or fled. Also, Odom had 10 open charges from previous incidents where he fled after stealing several times from Walmart, Target and Market 32, all located in the Town of Newburgh.

Odom was processed and taken for arraignment in front of Town of Monroe Judge McKnight where he was charged with FOUR counts of Burglary 3rd and EIGHT counts of Petit Larceny. Odom was released with no bail and a future court date.

Town of Newburgh Police were assisted at the scene by New Windsor Police, New York State Police and Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Odom had a female accomplice at the scene, who fled the store during Odom’s arrest. The same female is wanted for questioning in several previous larcenies committed by Odom.
