Town of New Windsor Police, Emergency Medical Services and New Windsor fire department personnel responded to a single-vehicular crash along Little Britain Road on Saturday, July 16.

At around 11:45, several witnesses saw a white Honda CRV drive up on an embankment along Little Britain Road and collided with a telephone pole and road sign. A loud bang could be heard from Masterson Lake and a large dust cloud rose up from the crash.

The crashed vehicle came to a full stop at the entrance to the driveway of a Central Hudson facility. The passenger side suffered damage in the back and the windshield was cracked all around.

Several witnesses of the crash saw a man, who looked Hispanic, get out of the vehicle with a cell phone and start to make his way down the Central Hudson driveway. Once the man made his way towards the tree line, he was said to have started fleeing into the wooded area. Several New Windsor officers conducted an on foot search into the wooded area and surrounding properties.

Police continued their search as personnel blocked off the road and removed the vehicle from the scene. Police said the man has not yet been located.
