Ulster County’s Veteran of the Month for August was Highland resident Chris Miller. Chris grew up an Army brat, moving all over, but spending a good bit of time in the Hudson Valley. He wound up staying in the area until he decided to join the Army himself. After four years in the Army, Chris came back to Highland, where he started a position at Stewart Air National Guard base as a NYS Air Security Officer. He later joined the Town of Lloyd Police Department in 2009, and still serves today. The urge to continue in the Armed Forces led Chris to enlist in the Air Force. He is currently a Loadmaster with the 137th Airlift Wing at Stewart ANGB, flying in the mighty C-17 Globemaster III. Chris has been married for 12 years and has two children.
