Ulster BOCES now enrolling for electrical Apprentice Program

Posted

The Ulster BOCES Adult Career Education Center is now enrolling students for its extensive, updated electrical apprentice training courses. In this four-year program, students will receive 225 hours of instruction per year, for a total of 900 hours.

This school year, students will be attending class two nights a week, until June 2023. They will be taught theory and will receive limited hands-on training. Upon successful completion of the entire program, New York State Registered Electrical Apprentices will be qualified as journey workers. This program of study is also open to those who are (1) employed in the electrical trade and are not affiliated with a registered employer, (2) employed in related trades who wish to expand their skills, and (3) those who desire employment in the electrical trade.

Classes will be held on either Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6-9 PM, at the Ulster BOCES Adult Career Education Center in Port Ewen. For more information, or to initiate the registration process, contact Carolyn Detweiler at cdetweil@ulsterboces.org or call (845) 331-5050, ext. 3214. Entry into the program requires candidates to take an assessment of basic adult education skills in math and reading.
