True crime writing workshop set for Beacon Litfest

Posted

Lovers of true crime and aspiring writers are invited to embark on an evening of captivating intrigue at Beacon Litfest’s “Murder She Wrote: A True Crime Writing Workshop” on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at The Factory Hotel.

The workshop, orchestrated by Cynthia Weiner of The Writers Studio in NYC, offers a rare opportunity to delve into the labyrinth of true crime fiction. Weiner, author of the forthcoming A Gorgeous Excitement, will guide participants through the intricate process of reimagining true crime events, including elements from the notorious “preppy murder” case, into compelling narrative fiction.

Guests can enjoy a kaleidoscopic buffet, with vegan options, while engaging in an intensive writing session designed to intertwine real crime elements into unique, mosaic-like storytelling. Tickets, priced at $50, include food, beverages, writing materials, and the chance to submit a reworked piece for next year’s Noir panel at Beacon Litfest.
