Tito Joseph DeSantis, Jr. of Marlboro, NY passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 peacefully at his home. He was 88. Tito was born on May 12, 1934 in Putnam, CT. He was the son of the late Tito DeSantis Sr. and Madelena DiVincenzo. He married Jeanne Marie Jarvais.
Tito graduated from Putnam High School in Connecticut where he met his only true love Jeanne Marie who he courted throughout High School while playing quarterback for their football team. That true love continued on well after high school which led to a marriage lasting nearly 70 years. Although Tito loved his family and friends unconditionally, perhaps his greatest honor was enlisting and proudly serving in the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. After fulfilling his military obligations and tour of duty, he along with his brothers, and his sister opened Newburgh Truck and Trailer Sales of Newburgh, NY where they owned and operated for over 35 years before retiring. Amongst many accomplishments in life, Tito was a member of Unico, an usher at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Roseton, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. Tito will always be remembered for his little jokes, desire to make people feel good, happy, and smile. He was loved by all, and he will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his beloved wife Jeanne Marie Jarvais DeSantis, his daughter Deborah Marchese, his sons; Tito J. DeSantis III and Dante (Jennifer) DeSantis, his grandchildren; Daniella Marchese, Anthony Marchese, and Olivia Lynn DeSantis, his sister in laws; Ann DeSantis, Marlene Berkowitz-DeSantis and Janet (Henry) Szumowski, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved favorite cat Gino.
Tito was predeceased by his sister RoseMarie Jodoin and her husband Norman, his brothers; Robert DeSantis, Sr., Phillip DeSantis, Sr., Mario DeSantis & Dario DeSantis (Italy), son in law Franco Marchese and brother in law Robert Jarvais, Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Friday morning, November 25th, from 10am to 12noon at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro.
A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday afternoon at 12:30pm at St. Mary's Church, 1209 Route 9W, Marlboro.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to The American Cancer Society, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or The Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
