Selorus “Trudy” Patrick, 87, of Newburgh, died peacefully on May 29, 2024.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Patrick of Newburgh, her children, Keith (Ute) Baughman of Germany, Amy (Tom) Durkin of Wappingers Falls, NY, John (Melissa) Baughman of Wellington, FL and her stepchildren.
Michael Patrick of CO, Stephanie Vitolano of Ft. Myers, FL and Joseph Patrick of Salt Point, NY. In addition she is survived by a brother, Tom (Nancy) Tomlin of Marion, OH, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Trudy was predeceased by her son, Bruce Baughman and stepson, Edmund Patrick in 2016.
Trudy (Tootie, as she was known in her younger years) was born to Lloyd (Tom) Tomlin and Mary Davis Tomlin in Caledonia, Ohio on October 31, 1936 where she resided until High School. She attended Business College in Omaha, Nebraska, was employed by the US Army and worked in the Pentagon for several years until returning home where she married and raised her family. In the mid 1960’s a move by IBM brought the family to Red Oaks Mill, NY where she resided until 1980.
In 1983 she married Bill and they moved to Newburgh, NY where she resided until her passing. She retired as a legal secretary in 1993. Trudy was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Newburgh, NY. Trudy loved her family, reading, watching football, her home and cooking. She was especially proud of her grandchildren. Her favorite place was Aruba where she had traveled many times with her husband, Bill and their loving friends, the late Richard and Lois Stevens.
Memorial Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 4 to 6 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.
A Funeral Service will follow 6 pm at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Selorus’s memory to Christ Lutheran Church, 186 Fullerton Ave, Newburgh NY, 12550.
