It is with sadness that we share that our beloved sister has passed due to complications of COVID on December 24.

Ruth is predeceased by her parents, Joe and Betty McLeod. She is survived by her brother, Tim and his wife Trudy of Wallkill, and sister, Kathy McLeod of Worcester, MA, maternal, Aunts, Phyllis of TX and Myrtle of Hawaii, as well as many cousins and friends.

Ruthie grew up and lived her life in Wallkill. She graduated from Wallkill Senior High School, class of 1985. Ruthie went on to complete her education at Krissler Business Institute.

Ruthie worked in a variety of settings and was very gifted in deciphering of information and organizational skills. For Ruth, her diligence at the workplace enabled her to live an exciting life outside of work. Ruth traveled extensively, mostly solo, planning every detail, coordinating rail commutes throughout Europe. Ruth was about all things Scottish, embracing her father’s heritage. Ruth visited Iceland, Scotland, and England more than once and made friends wherever she went. Ruth enjoyed visiting childhood friends in the UK. Ruth had a taste for the finer things in life, spa days, or weeks as in Iceland, fine food and drink. Dad would tease her about having champagne taste on a beer budget, but Ruth would make it happen. Ruth, at one point drove a blue Camaro, her pride and joy.

Ruth was a certified diver and loved to scuba dive. She enjoyed downhill skiing. Ruth was passionate about her animals which included cats over the course of the years, also the deer, possum, raccoon, and even skunks whom she met and treated on the back porch. She had names for all the wilds. Music was also very important to Ruthie. She played the violin from the age of 4 through high school. She loved listening to Bon Jovi in her earlier years, and later enjoyed the groups Image Dragons, and Scottish band, Scotia, among others.

Plans for a Memorial Service will be announced by the family at a later date.
