Richard Warren Brodrick, born on September 29, 1945, in Clinton, MA, peacefully departed this world on November 17, 2023, at his home in Newburgh, NY, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with a long illness. He was 78 years old.
Born to George Hargrave Brodrick and Grace Elizabeth (Watson) Brodrick, both of whom predeceased him, Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories.
He is survived by his three loving children:
Daughter Julie Skinner and her husband Ronald Skinner, along with Ronald’s children Ryan and Katelyn.
Son Parker Brodrick, adored grandson, Jameson Brodrick, Parker’s partner Natasha Torkelson, along with Natasha’s children Brayden and Mia.
Son Roth Brodrick and his wife Christin Brodrick, along with Christin’s children Mark and Alyssa.
He is fondly remembered by his surviving sisters, Marcia Brodrick and Phyllis Brodrick, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Robert, and David, and three sisters, Elizabeth, Madeline, and Margaret.
Richard served his country with honor during the Vietnam War as a member of the US Army and was honorably discharged.
During his remarkable career, spanning over 50 years, Richard made significant contributions to store management. He worked with dedication and passion for various companies, including W.T. Grant, Zayer Department Stores, Ames Department Stores and Home Depot.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Richard’s name.
Let us remember Richard Brodrick for the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the joy he brought into our lives. He will be missed dearly; may he rest in eternal peace.
