Money better spent elsewhere

While I did not make it to the November 4th board meeting as planned, I did watch it. In considering the board’s mismanagement of funds I shouldn’t be surprised about yet another issue.

I understand that before the vote to privatize the sewer department the board voted to buy a new truck. However, since stated by Trustee/Deputy mayor/Budget Officer DiSalvo that the company who took over the sewer department has their own vehicles, buying a new one with sewer reserve funds is not necessary. DiSalvo specifically stated it would be used by DPW. This is a no-no. The sewer department does not need a truck now and you cannot use sewer reserve funds on anything but sewer related needs.
In the face of all that happened and the “claims” of all the damage in the wastewater treatment plant, that money would be better spent on issues inside the plant.

By all means, do the digging about sewer funds and fact check me.
