School Events and news
Congratulations are for Marlboro Elementary School Grade 5 student Kaylee Keane, who was recently presented with an award for completing the 1,000 Book Project! Sponsored by the Marlboro Faculty Association, the 1,000 Book Project is a reading program that motivates children and caregivers to read 1,000 books together. To participate, children can visit the Marlboro Free Library or the Sarah Hull Hallock Free Library in Milton to begin borrowing pre-made bags of books, each of which contains ten books. Read the books, return the bag, and check out another. Happy reading!

St. Mary’s Church
Annual Holiday Breakfast sponsored by the Middlehope Fire Co. Ladies’ Auxiliary will be held Sunday, Dec. 5 from 8-11:30 a.m. at 11 Lattintown Road. Come and fill up on Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage, etc. Tickets are Adults: $10; Seniors: $8; Children Ages 4-10: $5 (under 4, Free). Santa will be available for pictures. Proceeds from this breakfast will be donated to local food pantries.

Just a reminder
As the holidays are quickly approaching, we thought it would be nice to offer “Holiday Extras” in their grocery bags. Some items that we do not purchase for the weekly bags that given out. For example: cake mixes, icing, cookie mixes, brownie mixes, sugar, hot chocolate, gravy, candy canes, etc. or anything of which you can think. It would be nice to provide some of these items for the families to enjoy some holiday treats. We will have boxes at the back of the churches for all donations or you may bring them by the rectory.

Weekly Recipe
Really Good Jalapeño Dip
By: inspired by charm
This Really Good Jalapeño Dip is so simple to make and a crowd-pleasing appetizer every time. You and your guests are going to love it as much as my family does!

INGREDIENTS 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese - softened
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 envelope dry ranch dressing mix
1 large red bell pepper - finely diced
5 jalapeño peppers* - seeded and finely diced
1 bag Tostitos Scoop chips

INSTRUCTIONS NOTES *When preparing your jalapeños, remove the seeds and white part (pith) of each pepper. This is where most of the heat is. I like to include the seeds and pith from one or two peppers to give this dip a little heat. You can add more, depending on the level of spiciness you desire.
1. In a medium bowl mix together the cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, ranch dressing mix, red pepper, and jalapeños until evenly combined.
2. Place prepared dip into a dish. Serve with Tostitos Scoop chips.

Happy Birthday: Fred DeGeorge, Patricia Sansone, Jean Florio, Ann Esposito, Gianna Roggio, Alicia Curry, Tara Earley, Garnett Arledge, Gail Appler, Jr.
