Maureen J. Leibmann of Orange Lake, NY, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Newburgh. She was 86.

She left this world peacefully, surrounded by family, having lived a long and happy life.  She took great joy in a cup of tea on her porch, watching the sun glimmer on Orange Lake, in the home that she loved. She had an infectious laugh, and laughed hardest when she was the butt of the joke. She handled her struggles with grace, and relied on her faith to carry her forward, one day at a time. She loved her husband, and longed to be reunited with him in heaven. She has waited patiently for that time, she is at peace, and is finally on her way.  We will miss her, and she will be carried in our hearts every day until we meet her again.

The daughter of the late James and Mary Grimes Hines, she was born November 28, 1937 in Queens, NY.

Maureen was a retired registered nurse for Mary Immaculate Hospital, Queens, NY.

She was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, Newburgh, as well as the Orange Lake Association. Maureen was also a member of her cherished Montgomery Home Group.

She was the widow of beloved husband of 49 years, Robert J. Leibmann.

Survivors include her Daughter Ellen Leibmann-Cohan and Tony of Pittsfield, MA; Son Robert F. Leibmann of Scottsdale, AZ; Daughter Mo C. Eltzholtz and Edward of Ridgewood, NJ; Sister Kathy Abrams and Lenny of South Daytona Beach, Florida.

Grandchildren Hannah, Abby, Grace, Kayleen, Gabrielle, Robert James, and Erin as well as several nieces and nephews, including John Puleio and Annmarie Brady, who were like children to her extended family and friends.

A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 9, at Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, Newburgh.

Cremation will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
