It was a big night for the Marlboro throwers as both Julianna Juras and Jose Iraola-Ceely swept the boys’ and girls’ discus on Friday at the Mid Hudson Athletic League championship track and field meet on Friday at Rondout Valley High School.

They also took home the most valuable throwing award for male and female.

Juras won the girls’ shot put with a throw of 34-7 and the discus with a throw of 137-9. Iraola-Ceely reached 141-4 in the discus and 47-0.75 in the shot put.

The Marlboro boys’ team finished fourth with 82 points and the girls finished tied for ninth with Pine Plains with 26 points. The Highland girls were 14th with one point and the boys were 10th with 22 points. The FDR Presidents won both the boys’ and girls’ meets.

Drew Heimink won three events, picking up victories in the long jump, reaching 19.85, and he went first and second in the pole vault with Sean Robertson. Heimink cleared 13-7 and Robertson cleared 12-6. He also won the triple jump, reaching 40-9.5.

Colin Robertson won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.01, and he also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.03 seconds.

Zachery Moulds was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:16.22. The Iron Dukes were eighth in the 3,200-meter run.

Highland’s Josh Bishop was fifth in the high jump, clearing 5-11, and Daiven Leath was seventh in the long jump, racing 18-1.75. Leath was fourth in the triple jump, reaching 39-6.25.

Alexander Papazov was seventh in the 400-meter dash in 54.16. George Simmons was eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.87.

The 400-meter relay team was fifth in 47.62, and the 1,600-meter relay team was sixth.

For the girls’ meet, Fallon Grace was eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.71, and Alivia Menser was eighth in the pole vault, reaching 6-0.

The 400-meter relay team finished fifth in 55.87.
Highland’s 3,200-meter relay team finished eighth for the Huskies’ only point in the girl’s meet.
