Linda Marie Auchmoody, 72, a longtime resident of Highland, passed away peacefully July 28th, 2021 at Vassar Hospital.

Linda was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on September 22nd, 1948, to the late James and Lillian Laiosa Guglielmino.

Before moving to Highland, Linda graduated from Marlboro High School, class of 1966.

Linda went on to marry her love, Leonard Auchmoody on Valentine’s Day, and together they created a beautiful and loving family for their two sons Ricky and Willy.

Early on Linda began working in the Highland School District, which gave her the ability to keep a close watchful eye on her precious boys. This also garnered her a respectful and lifelong following of her son’s friends, who still to this day refer to her affectionately as “Aunt Linda”, “Momma Linda” or simply “Ma”. She became a mother figure to not just her son’s friends from their youth, but eventually to her daughter-in-law’s siblings too.

Until her retirement, Linda work for HO Penn Machinery in Poughkeepsie, where she made lasting friendships that she cherished. There wasn't a person who passed her desk or heard her voice on the other end of their line, who’s day wasn't made better and brighter for it.

Linda was not only the true matriarch of her own family; she was also a willing honorary matriarch to all those who would have her, forever expanding her brood. When the time came that her son’s became uncles, inevitably Linda became a loving Nana to Jordan and Paige Stearns and Marissa and Taylor Anzalone as well. There was always room around Linda’s table. No one left her house hungry, nor did she ever arrive at a friend’s home empty handed. Whether with a ravioli salad or a trifle, you could always count on Linda to be there with a smile and great conversation.

Linda is survived at home by her loving and forever devoted husband Leonard, her sons Leonard (Ricky) Auchmoody and William (Willy) Auchmoody along with his wife Rebecca. Grandchildren include Ryan Charles, Luke William, and Lilyana Marie Auchmoody, all of Highland. A sister, Santina Fancher of Florida; and her brother, Salvatore Guglielmino of Highland, as well as her devoted friend Barbara Ritshie and several adoring nieces and nephews.

Aside from her parents, Linda was also predeceased by her brother James Guglielmino as well as her brother-in-law Roy Fancher.
