Hilario Medina, of Plattekill, NY, known by many as Larry, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14th, at the age of 78.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he was an extraordinary man whose life was marked by hard work, dedication to his family, and a deep sense of pride of where he came from.

Born on August 12, 1946, in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, Hilario was the son of the late Eleuterio and Catalina (Santiago) Medina. He was one of twelve siblings and carried the values of love and family with him throughout his life. His commitment to providing for his loved ones was endless, and for 45 years, he worked as a Team Leader at Chemprene, Inc. in Beacon, NY. Hilario was employed and worked full time until the very day he passed, encapsulating his relentless drive and devotion to his family.

In the rare moments when he wasn’t working, Hilario found great joy in cooking. It wasn’t just a hobby for him—it was a way to bring his family together and share his love through food.

Above all, Hilario’s deepest joy came from his family. His unwavering love and dedication to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no limits. His kindness, support, and strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Hilario is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary B. (Torres) Medina; one daughter, Yvette Medina of Newburgh, NY; three sons, Eddie (Norma) Medina, Edwin (Ashley) Medina, and Matthew (Allison) Medina, all of Plattekill, NY; ten grandchildren, Austin, Savannah, Isabella, Stephanie, Jessica, Karina, AJ, Alaina, Evelyn, and Emery; three great-grandchildren, Chasity, Jayson, and Sariyah; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY. A Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Hilario’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at [www.stjude.org](http://www.stjude.org).

Hilario’s legacy of love, work ethic, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
