On Saturday evening, April 15 the Town of Lloyd Police received a report of threatening and violent messages that were posted on a social media platform. The threats were directed toward students and staff of the Highland Middle School. The Town of Lloyd Police immediately started an investigation in conjunction with the Highland Central School District Administration and were able to locate and identify the individual responsible for the threatening posts.

On Monday, April 17 the Town of Lloyd Police arrested a 13-year-old Highland juvenile and charged him with Making a Threat of Mass Harm. He was released to his parents on an Ulster County Family Court appearance ticket. The juvenile is due in Ulster County Family Court later this month.
