Highland Public Library offers museum passes and events

The Highland Public Library is pleased to announce the availability of passes offering free or reduced admission to a wide variety of museums and historic sites, thanks to the Friends of the Highland Public Library. The library also has a number of exciting events planned for April.
The museum passes are available on a first-come basis at the library check out desk. Passes can be reserved for a specific day by calling the check out desk at 845-691-2275 ext. 201. Passes must be returned inside the library building. Below are the museums and historic sites available with the passes:
• Bethel Woods Center for the Arts
• Boscobel House and Gardens
• Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo

• Dia
• Empire State Pass
• Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library
• Hudson Highlands Nature Museum
• Hudson River Maritime Museum
• Mohonk Preserve Pass
• Motorcyclepedia Museum
• Olana State Historic Site
• Opus 40
• Storm King Art Center

We suggest that patrons confirm hours and directions online or by phone.

In addition to the museum passes, the Highland Public Library has a variety of events planned for the month of April. On April 22, the library will host a Defensive Driving class. Only 14 seats are available, so patrons are encouraged to reserve their spot today. Little Acorns Story and Music Time will take place on Wednesday, April 12, at 11 a.m., followed by Teen Board Games from 3 - 4 p.m., and Yoga with Michelle from 5:45 - 7 p.m. On April 18 from 5 - 7p.m., Instructor Gary Anello will teach Automotive 101, covering the basic understanding of care and maintenance of your vehicle.

The library is also offering a Learn American Mahjong course beginning on Thursday, April 27, with three available spots for registration. The four-session course will continue on May 4, 18 and 25, from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Meeting Room. Seating is limited for many of these events, so patrons are encouraged to register in advance.

Lastly, the library is excited to announce a new art exhibition featuring a diverse collection of illustrated watercolors on display and for sale throughout the month of April.
