Highland Hose company hosts Christmas tree sale

Christmas Tree sales going on now at Station 2.  Hours are Monday thru Friday 5 – 8, Saturday & Sunday 9 – 8.  

For payment they accept cash, check & credit card. 

They have a large selection, but trees are limited compared to past years. The Firehouse also have a selection of decorated and plain wreaths. Head on down and get your Christmas started with the Highland Hose Company annual Christmas Tree sales. Station 2 is located at 570 New Paltz Road. 

Santa’s Workshop  22 Until None and American Legion Post 193 are teaming up to serve our community with some holiday fun. Veterans, Active Duty, Reservist, First Responders, and their families are encouraged to come. Arts and crafts, refreshments, and you can take your own pictures with Santa. It is taking place December 18 from 2-5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 84 Grand St.

Rotary Club super raffle is back! 
The Highland Rotary Club is excited to announce their  super 25 raffle is back. Bigger and better than ever. The raffle is 25 weeks of prizes including an HDTV, Roomba, Blackstone Grille, $500 to Milton Hardware, broadway tickets, lots of cash, dinner gift cards... And much more! 

To purchase a ticket, it costs $30 per ticket, or 4 for $100. You can visit the Rotary Club  website Highlandrotaryclub.com to check out the prizes, see our generous donors and to buy tickets. You can also reach out to one of our Highland Rotarians to purchase a ticket. 

 Last year, Rotarians raised over 9k which helped support local community efforts such as student scholarships, new coats for the needy, adopt a family program to help the unfortunate have a better holiday season, turkey for Thanksgiving and other foods to the hungry, among many other wonderful initiatives. Feel good about buying a raffle ticket! ALL the proceeds to help others. 


Highland Public Library Events and Activities: 
Curbside : Preschool Cookie Craft 
Curbside Preschool crafts will be held on  the 1st and 3rd week of each month.  Registration is  required for each craft. Perfect for children 2-5. Crafts are available through our curbside service until Saturday, December 4. Kits are limited to 10 and registration is required. Please register each child who will be getting a kit. We will have a craft themed book for you to check out if you choose. The book will be checked out to you and due in 3 weeks. 
Create A Cookie Card. Registration is required. Cookie card kits are available through our curbside service until Saturday, December 4. Kits are limited to 10 and  registration is required. 
Hedgehog Puppet Craft Kit  
For ages 8-12.  Hedgehog Puppet Craft Kits  are available to be picked up through our curbside service or by stopping in all week long until Saturday. There are only 10 kits available for the week.  The kit includes and instructions. Registration is required. 
Stamping for Fun. Join us every month for an adult stamping class. This class we be held on the 1st Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Each month we will make 3 all occasion cards. Class is limited to 8 and supplies are included.  This program is for Adults 18+. 
Registration is required. Masks are required for all indoor programs. We will be social distancing so class size is is limited to 8. 
 Art Adventures for Seniors, is a new, exciting series for patrons 65 and over. This program promises to provide an exciting new experience for men and women who want to revisit an old past-time or experience something new.  
In this class we will discuss: 
1. The ceramics process of greenware bisqueware, glazing and firing. 
2. Glaze a tea pot for one using a variety of glazes. 
* Note: The art of ceramics can be unpredictable during the firing process. Be aware that there can be issues with cracking. Though rare, it does happen on occasion. It will take 2-3 days for your piece to be fired. You will be notified as to when to pick up your fired piece. 

 Hooked on Books Discussion Club 
Come join us in a discussion of our monthly read. December’s book choice is Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory. We meet for gatherings the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., unless noted, at the Highland Public Library.  Book selections are made by members of the club on a rotating basis. For information regarding our monthly meeting and the book selections contact the Highland Public Library at 691-2275 and speak with Lisa.  Looking forward to meeting you!   
We will be meeting in the HPL Meeting room, masks required. 
 Curbside Craft Kits need to be picked up within the week of the craft.
