At last week’s Highland School Board meeting Assistant Principal for the Elementary School, Malissa Chester, introduced Tenley Esposito as their Leader of the Pack for January.
Chester read comments submitted by a few of Tenley’s teachers; Andrea Schoellig said, “Tenley is always bright and cheerful when she enters the classroom in the morning and gets right to work and consistently gives her best effort in everything she does.”
Art teacher Erica Babineau said, “Tenley loves art and is always excited to come to class and is attentive and interested. She carefully crafts her work and truly thinks about her artistic choices. It’s a pleasure to teach her.”
Library teacher Marilyn Petresock said, “Tenley is such a wonderful addition to our Husky family and she is positive, sincere, helpful and a positive role model for her classmates and fellow students and she has a love for learning and reading that’s infectious.”
Kathlene Canosa said, “Tenley always gives 100% in Physical Education and leads by example and her enthusiasm for the subject matter is contagious to her classmates.”
Middle School Assistant Principal Sarah Hathaway introduced Tania Perez-Perez as the Highland Middle School Leader of the Pack. Hathaway highlighted comments from a few of Tania’s teachers: Technology teacher Sean Banks said, “Tania is an incredibly hard worker who is always putting effort into her work. She is respectful in class and will help out her classmates around her and her willingness to go above and beyond, whether through extra research or helping peers is truly impressive.”
Cody Weaver commented that, “Tania’s maturity is what sets her apart. She’s hard working, prepared and is always willing to help out a peer.”
English teacher Mary Leahy said, “Tania has outstanding personal and academic integrity and demonstrates this daily in class by always having her work thoughtfully completed. She has top-notch manners and always speaks to her peers and staff with respect and sincerity. Tania is a true scholar and a role model for all Middle School students.”
Math teacher Shamien Jansen says, “Tania strives for academic success and is always willing to help a peer. She comes to class every day with a positive attitude and ready to learn.”
Kyle Welch described Tania as a, “diligent, kind and thoughtful person and excels in French class and works well with her peers.”
Kevin Brennie said, “The best way to describe Tania is disciplined, whether it is in school academically or out of school during her pursuit of becoming a world class MMA fighter. She is always willing to do whatever it takes to succeed- one impressive kid.”
High School Principal Brandon Opitz introduced Kailani Angiolillo as the Highland High School Leader of the Pack for January and read some comments from staff members; Counselor Heather Laubach said, “Not only is Kai very intelligent but is just a joy to be around. She’s very kind and respectful and I see her as a very positive presence in our school and community.”
Spanish teacher Maria Forero said, “Kai is an exceptional young lady and academically she excels but her personality, kindness and warm heart are really what make her shine.”
Science teacher Christopher Cozzolino described Kai as, “an incredible student who never stops working and masters every skill and more importantly she is so kind to her peers and often lends them a hand when they’re in need of assistance.”
Math teacher Stefanie Trapani commented that, “Kai is such a delight to have in class and she pushes herself to go further in every topic being taught and asks questions to show her higher order of thinking. I’m amazed by her intellectual nature and problem solving approach on a day to day basis.”
Social Studies teacher Cristina Saylor said, “Kai is an extremely thoughtful and hardworking student and holds herself to high standards and usually always hits them. If she doesn’t, her resilience is even more impressive and she has the ability to bounce back even stronger and push through; this is what truly makes her a Leader of the Pack.”
English teacher Joshua Tatum said “Kai possess a rare combination of ability to be creative and has a hard work ethic. She’s always going to give a little bit extra and her constant positivity, eagerness to learn and willingness to engage fully with every activity are greatly appreciated.”
Art teacher Les Castellanos said, “Kai is a talented and creative young artist. She uses traditional methods to create complex, personal pieces and keeps the classroom vibrant and fun without compromising her work ethic.”
