Highland FD hosts annual dinner

Firefighter Fred DeMaio opened the celebratory evening with an Invocation. The dinner was held at The Chateau in Kingston for the first time in three years.

Chief Peter Miller thanked everyone for attending the dinner. He took a moment to especially thank the Board of Fire Commissioners, the Ladies Auxiliary, the Lloyd Police, the town’s Building department and town government as well as the Mutual Aid companies.

“We get tremendous support for the fire department and every thing that we do is appreciated, they understand what we do and they accept it. We do need resources and we move forward on those resources and it keeps our membership as involved as it can be and the community is always supportive,” he said.

It was noted that the Highland Hose Company No. 1 has served the Town of Lloyd for 127 years. The evening was dedicated in memory of Past Chief and Fire Commissioner Benjamin A. Bragg.
