Daiven Leath won three events in the Highland boys’ track and field team’s 73-63 win over Onteora on Wednesday at Highland High School for their first win of the season.

The girls’ team was beaten, 109-32.

Coaches Heather Laubach (boys) and Kathleen Mancuso (girls) honored the team’s 15 seniors: Erica Angelillo, Ava Mazzetti, Marissa Santos, Taki Bakatsias, Michael Birch, Trevor Ebert, Gavin Landry, Daiven Leath, Alan Mendez, Erik Nelson, Stephen Origene Cedric Petilos, George Simmons, Brayden Surprise, and Jeaton Williams.

Leath won the 110-meter hurdles, the long jump and the triple jump to lead the Huskies.

George Simmons (100-meter dash, 200-meter dash), Alexander Papazov (400-meter dash), and Nathaniel Swart (shot put) picked up wins for the Huskies, who also won the 400-meter and 1,600-meter relays.

Mia Clarke won the 200-meter dash and the long jump for the Huskies’ girls’ team. Armani Earley won the 100-meter dash and Erin Smith won the high jump. The Huskies won the 3,200-meter relay.
