Hello my community

I want to thank everyone for making this year’s Annual Trunk or Treat so successful.

I was so excited to take over running this year’s Trunk or Treat. When I was a young Girl Scout, we started Trunk or Treat and I have so many fond memories helping my mom and her friend Joanne Lewis for 7 years with my Girl Scout troop. I loved doing it so much that when I heard that there was no one to run this year, it was an obvious choice for me to do it as it is my senior year at O’Neill High School and I will be off to college next year.

However, I could not have done it without the support of our community. We had 23 trunks this year and a bunch of candy donated. I wanted to thank:
Community Members: Laurie Tautel, The Olivia Family, The Salty Senior Group (who won Best Overall and 1st Place), Raul Velez, Cortney Steinmetz, The Mackey Family, The Center of Highland Falls, the Kain Family (who won for Most Creative), Andrea Kelley and Gillian Kelley;

Local Businesses: Neighbors Landscaping, L & L Property Maintenance, Right At Home, Navy Federal Credit Union (who won Best DYI and 2nd place) and Artisan Realty;

O’Neill High School Clubs: JROTC (who won 3rd Place), Reading Buddies, Interact Club, National Honor Society and Red Cross Club;
Municipalities: The Highland Falls Fire Department, The Highland Falls Ambulance Corp, and the Highland Falls Police.

You all made this event so much fun for the kids and I cannot thank you enough for doing so. In addition, I would like to thank The Manning Family, CD Perry, Fort Fitness, and Laurie Palma for donating candy and DPW leaving cones/horses to keep the street safe. The candy donations helped make sure everyone’s trunk stayed nice and full throughout the event. My final thank you goes out to Gillian Kelley, my mom Cristin Manning and The Chamber of Commerce who helped me run and create this year’s Trunk or Treat. I am so grateful for all your help and guidance throughout the whole process.
As a community together, I truly believe that we pulled off an amazing event this year for the kids of our community.
