George D. Dougherty, Jr., of Clintondale, entered into rest on Monday, March 3, 2025. He was 58.
Son of George D. Clintondale and the late Mary E. (Parr) Dougherty, he was born January 17, 1967 in Poughkeepsie, NY.
A lifelong area resident, he was a corrections officer with the Orange County Sherrif’s Department in Goshen, NY. George adored his family; he looked forward to their annual family vacations with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid NY Giants fan, traveling to different stadiums with friends to see games whenever possible.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Dougherty; his father, George D. Dougherty of Clintondale; a son, Patrick Doughtery of Poughkeepsie, NY, stepsons, Harry (Carla) Worden, of Wallkill, NY, Michael (Lexy) Worden of Ellenville, NY, Gregg Worden of Ellenville, and Angelo (Justine) DeJesus, Jr., of Ellenville; daughters, Francesca Dougherty of Hawley, PA, Marissa Dougherty of Highland, NY, Caitlin Dougherty of Highland, NY; stepdaughter, Candice (Craig) DeJesus of Clintondale, NY; grandchildren, A’Ryanna (Nikhil), Anthony, Gage, Scarlett, Layla, Payton, Maeve, Isabelle, Sophia, Aria, Carmelina, and Craig, along with many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
A Celebration of George’s Life will take place Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Hidden Rose Catering, 33 Chelsea Road, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
