Frederick J. Fetter, of Wallkill entered rest Wednesday, July 26, 2023. He was 81.

Born February 25, 1942, in Newburgh, Fred was the son of the late Fred and Florie (Hutter) Fetter.

Fred was the owner of Fred Fetter Landscaping and Certified Arborist. He volunteered as the City of Newburgh’s Arborist and was a member of The City of Newburgh Shade Tree Commission, (now the Conservation Advisory Council City of Newburgh) and was a member of the Plattekill Rod and Gun Club. He was also a founding member of the Rotary Club of Southern Ulster/Plattekill and was instrumental in preserving the Balmville Tree. He was a second-generation farmer in Leptondale.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Vivian (Hunter) Fetter at home; one son, Fred J. Fetter Jr. of Walden; daughter Ronda Bivona and husband Steve of Wallkill; daughter Audra Hinchliffe and husband Tom of Plattekill; grandsons, Nicco Bivona and Robert Hinchliffe; brother-in-law Franklin Hunter; as well as several nieces, nephews and his lifelong friend, Peter Hammer.

In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by a grandson, Steven Biagio Bivona, and sister-in-law Margaret Hunter.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 30, at White, Venuto & Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, Newburgh, with Pastor Steve Sherwood officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Modena Rural Cemetery.
