Charles W. Bauer of Montgomery entered into eternal rest on October 1, 2023, at Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY with his loving family by his side. He was 78.

The son of the late Charles and Pearl (Cacioppo) Bauer, Charles was born on April 30, 1945, in Jersey City, New Jersey. On May 7, 1983, he was united in Marriage to GiGi Baty in Montgomery.

Charlie was a retired contractor for Tom Buck Construction and Brigadoon Construction. He loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandson, Connor. Charlie loved being in nature, he was an avid hunter, fishermen, gardener and cook.  If you needed fresh eggs, Charlie had them; he loved his flock of chickens. If you needed fresh vegetables from his large garden each season, he had plenty to share. He was always trying his best to recreate his grandmother’s Vincenza Cacioppo homemade sauce with his garden-fresh tomatoes each season; he came very close. He was a builder of many things; Charlie especially enjoyed making all kinds of bird, bee and bat houses that family and friends proudly have hanging in their gardens today. He also made Bat House kits for a Cub Scout Troop in Pine Bush, NY, instilling the love of building in others. Charlie was a very kind, caring, giving man; he was known to help anyone in need. He loved to talk to everyone. Every year he truly enjoyed spending time with his best friends at the hunting camp in Downsville, NY. Charlie will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Charlie is survived by his wife, GiGi of 40 years, his son, Scott Bauer (Lauren), his daughters, Sherry Stephen, Rae Ann Bauer (Kenny Bock), Ashley Lynn Bauer (John Trujillo), and his son, James Bauer (Heather Terrace).
