Carol H. Link passed away, peacefully, on October 9, 2024 at the age of 87 after a short illness. Daughter of the late Minnie and I. Mack Helfman, she was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 9, 1937 and raised in the Bronx. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alden; their three children, Jeffrey, Amy and Lilli; seven grandchildren, Jenna, Justin, Ely, Liam, Peyton, Samantha and Michael; and great grandson, Logan.
Carol was a graduate of Christopher Columbus H.S. She studied Art at Brooklyn College and received her B.A. from University of California, Berkley. While she was working during the day as an art teacher in Brooklyn, she went to night school and received her Master’s Degree from Teacher's College, Columbia University.
Carol loved being a mother. She was a stay-at-home mom who was very involved in her children's lives, helping with homework, doing art projects and taking them on ski vacations. She was also an avid photographer and took home movies, as well as hundreds of pictures of family and friends.
When her children got older she went back to work, first starting an art gallery called Belle Arts & Graphics, in Nyack, NY with her college friend, Carol Baretz, and later becoming a successful real estate broker in Westchester County.
Carol loved to garden. Every house she lived in had a garden, some of which took up the entire back yard. When visiting, you could almost always find her picking, planting or weeding in her plot of heaven. She gifted friends with its bounty, including garlic, tomatoes, cucumbers and zucchini.
Carol was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She also left a legacy of friendships. To know her was to love her. She will be missed by all whose path she crossed.
