Big Brother strikes again!

Posted

Starting as of January 1st, 2026, all new homes built in New York State will not be able to be heated with natural gas or fuel oil. Also, so long for those gas stoves in new home construction.  The All-Electric Buildings Law requires any new buildings of less than seven stories and on July first, two thousand twenty-eight if the building is seven stories or more to utilize electric.

“In 2023, natural gas-fired power plants accounted for almost three-fifths of New York’s generating capacity and provided 46% of the state’s electricity net generation, generating twice as much electricity as any other fuel source.” Unfortunately next January new homes won’t have that option.

The Federal Government smartly eliminated the Electric Vehicle mandate giving Americans once again freedom of choice for their next vehicle purchase. In New York State the climate cult has destroyed any common sense in our elected representatives so that now starting in January 2026 only electric can be used for new construction. As if there weren’t already enough reasons for people to move out of the State this is another nail in the coffin for freedom loving Americans ability to choose.
