Bard Dale Presler passed away on October 5, 2023 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, where in August, he received a Kidney Transplant and then contracted a rare fungal lung infection that ultimately took his life.
Bard was born on September 11, 1963 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh. He recently turned 60 years old. He was the son of the late Bard Raymond Presler and Joan Marie Flanagan Presler, who survives. He resided in Marlboro, NY the majority of his life except for the short period of time he lived in Pennsylvania.
Bard was a Sales Account Manager and worked for Danzer Veneer America for 28 years. He was a member of the Marlboro Yacht Club, Marlboro, for 44 years. He joined at the age of 16. He was a member of the Harris Bay Yacht Club on Lake George, NY. He was a member for 37 years. Bard graduated from Marlboro Central High School and attended Dutchess Community College.
In addition to his mother Joan Marie Presler, Bard is survived by two sisters, Ember Barda Presler of Marlboro and April Gail (Joseph) Certoma of North Carolina, and two nephews, Brendon and Barrett Certoma, also of North Carolina.
Bard was a protective and loving son to his mother and sisters Ember and April. He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends.
Bard was an avid outdoors man. He enjoyed spending time in the Catskill Mountains and Adirondack Mountains skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and boating. He enjoyed eagle and bird watching. He enjoyed driving the backcountry roads and exploring. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.
Calling hours were held at the DiDonato Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, followed by entombment at The Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Middlehope. At the request of the family memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Marlboro PO Box 577, Marlboro, NY 12542.
