Barbara L. Connor of Marlboro, NY passed away on December 28th at St. Luke’s hospital at the age of 90 after a brief illness. She was born on November 30th, 1931 in East Haven, CT and was the daughter of Leon Ross and Marjorie Blake Ross.
Barbara taught music (piano) both privately and in a public school setting in Schuylerville and Marlboro, NY. She was a graduate of Arlington HS, The Crane School of Music, and Columbia University.
Survivors include her children Mary Rose and James Connor of Marlboro NY, and her grandchildren Thomas Tooker of Portland Oregon, and Catherine Vaillancourt of Rocky Hill CT.
Barbara had a lifelong love of music, books, baseball and cats. She was an active member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Newburgh and often lent her musical talents to the services. She was pre-deceased by her husband James W. Connor.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 11th from 5-8pm at DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro.
Burial will be the following morning at 9am at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mid-Hudson Animal Aid or Calvary Presbyterian Church of Newburgh, NY.
