Ann FitzGerald Babcock formerly of Newburgh, passed away peacefully with her loved ones at her side in her Mount Holly, NJ home. Ann was 89 years old.
Ann was the daughter of the late D. Edward FitzGerald and M. Frances Shinners. Ann is survived by her son David Babcock and wife Sherry (Griffith) Babcock, granddaughter Melissa (Babcock) Sample, great grandsons Liam and Shane Sample, sisters Kathleen Mazzarelli, Eileen McQuiston, Mary Kingseed, Beth Fiore, Peggy Burley, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ann is predeceased by her eldest son William Elmer Babcock, her husband William E. Babcock, brother David E. FitzGerald, and stepmother Helen Spreer. Ann worked as a bank teller for over 40 years, and then worked at the county library for another 17 years, retiring at the age of 80.
Ann believed in getting up and going to work. She regularly attended mass at Sacred Heart Church in Mount Holly, NJ. Ann loved spending summer vacations with her family and her beloved sisters and their families in Long Beach Island, NJ.
Growing up, Ann was often called the prettiest girl in Newburgh; but, it was her inner beauty that everyone loved. Private funeral services will be held at a future date.
