As it does every year, the Fort Montgomery Fire Department and Town of Highlands Police Benevolent Association hosted a day of Halloween fun for local children this past Saturday. The event started off with a parade around Garrison’s Pond, and ended up with games, refreshments and contests at the fire house. The parade was a little light on emergency vehicles this year – moments before it was to step off there was an emergency call at the Bear Mountain Traffic Circle demanding the attention of first responders.
