A Monday afternoon blaze

The Fort Montgomery Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at Hudson View Mobile Home Park (Lot 21) on Monday afternoon, finding a fully involved residence.

The home, FMFD Chief Rich Salva said, was unoccupied at the time. A second alarm was sounded and help came by way of the Highland Falls, Cornwall (Highland Engine), West Point and Stony Point (Wayne Hose) Fire Departments, the Town of Highlands and Highland Falls Police, the Town of Highlands Ambulance Corps and Orange County Fire Coordinators and Fire Inspector. Storm King Engine (Cornwall-on-Hudson) and Continental Village (Garrison) stood by for other calls. “All-in-all, a great job by all,” Salva said.

The residents of the home were put in touch with the American Red Cross to help with their needs, local volunteers at the scene said.
