On Thursday June 1, at approximately 11:15 a.m, Town of Newburgh Police and other First Responders were called to the area of State Route 52 and State Route 300 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Officers on scene found an accident involving a 2008 Infinity and a 2002 FRT tractor trailer. Preliminary investigations show the 2002 FRT, driven by a 42 year-old Wurtsboro man, traveling southbound Route 300. The 2008 Infinity, driven by a 62 year-old New Windsor woman, was traveling westbound on Route 52. Preliminary investigation also shows the accident happened at the intersection of Rt 300 and Rt 52, with the Infinity passing a red light. The operator of the Infinity, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, was transported to Westchester Medical Center via helicopter for her injuries. TNPD is continuing the investigation and asks anyone who may have witnessed the accident, if you haven’t already talked to the police, please reach out to the Detective Division.

At the scene, Town of Newburgh Police were assisted by Winona Lake Fire Department, Orange Lake Fire Department, TONVAC, MEDEVAC, and New York State Police.
