Wild Hearts brings Wellness to New Windsor

Mother and daughter duo Therese Quinn and her daughter Rachel Berlingieri will be offering their mental and physical wellness healing services in their new studio opening in New Windsor, Wild Hearts Healing Arts Center. Wild Hearts Healing Arts Center will offer reiki treatments, reiki certification classes for all levels, treatments with and classes in sound healing, crystal healing and essential oils/aromatherapy, in addition to other services. The center also plans to offer a variety of classes in yoga, meditation, mantras and mudras, breathwork, energy space clearing and workshops in healing with color, art, music and movement to promote the benefits of artistic expression.

Quinn’s education and training began 50 years ago in Manhattan, but her life took a sharp focus on energy healing when she underwent a decade long journey through the world of pediatric cancer with her son. Shortly after, her work began locally by facilitating weekly groups for women in Washingtonville, and when the center she worked for closed its doors, she embraced the next level of her journey into a world of healing with reiki. She visited the homes of people in need, was called to hospital beds and brought comfort to the homes of those facing death. She eventually joined forces with her daughter to offer workshops and classes. When the Covid pandemic hit, Quinn began to learn how to do virtual classes and offered distant healing sessions with much success. As the pandemic continued, the duo decided that they needed their own space and earlier this year their idea went into motion.

“The idea for the business is, for me, the culmination of a lifetime’s work in the field of metaphysics and alternative healing. I believe there is a growing need, especially since Covid, for people to learn how to take more control of their own well-being. They are looking for tools and practices to help them in their search for wellness self-empowerment and we offer some tools they might find valuable. We have been called to offer opportunities for this in New Windsor, so I have faith that we are needed there,” Quinn shared.

Berlingieri is a yoga and meditation teacher, reiki master, transformational energy worker, shamanic healer, channel and coach, and trauma informed practitioner. In addition, she has a bachelor’s degree in community and human services.

“This is a lifelong dream come true for my mother and I, to have our own space to offer people the tools that have helped us and do what we love and to be of service in integrity and harmony and offer people a truly sacred space,” she shared.

Berlingieri started practicing yoga and meditation 25 years ago at 18 years old to help with anxiety. The healing practice brought her into a better place and gave her peace with some challenges she went through at a young age.

“Yoga was the gateway for me into other practices, healing modalities and teachings. I started to study different religions and philosophy at that time and was very connected to Buddhism. It was helpful to have a mother that was spiritual and into healing and artistic expression. It helped me tremendously through different ups and downs in my life, to have an outlet of movement, art and music,” she shared.

After going through some serious physical injuries and being diagnosed with PTSD twice in her life, Berlingieri wanted to dive deeper into her healing and education around healing. She began to practice yoga more regularly and took a yoga teaching training certification class to become a yoga teacher. She completed her certification in 2014 and has been teaching yoga ever since around the area in various yoga studios and spaces. In 2017, Berlingieri started to practice reiki with her mother and graduated with her reiki master certificate in 2020.

“I think the world needs more healing and awareness around how to help ourselves in ways that work for you and your family. More connection to ourselves, our soul and nature. It helps to understand the world and how limitless we truly are. Not to get bogged down by the darkness of the world but to learn from it and transmute some of that darkness to light and harmony,” Berlingieri explained.

With the opening of their own physical location now before them, Quinn and Berlingieri are eager to serve the community.

“I’m hoping New Windsor embraces us. I have always had amazing friends and students from this area. I think the last few years have been challenging and now it’s an opportunity to heal, rest and learn more tools to benefit everyone. We also have a lot of fun in our classes and are look forward to creating a positive environment for others to let go and create healing and joy for themselves,” said Berlingieri.
