Sandy Faland Spitzer is an artist in the Hudson Valley She was born in Brooklyn, NY but moved to Scandinavia as an adult. Art was always a way she would express herself. Spitzer prefers oil as her painting media of choice, though she also works in pastels and drawing media. Among her works, there are many still life paintings, landscapes of the Hudson Valley, Norway, Sweden, Italy, France and the carribean islands.
Sandy has been painting for over 20 years. She studied with several master artists and privately in Europe. Her pieces have been shown in many shows in the tri-state area, some of which won her awards.
Today Sandy Spitzer is on her New Beginning, after being struck with illness for 2 years and unable to paint because she had lost sensation in both of her hands. She is now slowly returning to her passion and has begun her painting journey again. She spends her days painting in her studio and listening to classical music.
