Rec Department has begun booking spring trips

Hello New Windsor. I have mentioned in a previous column a while back that I have always loved police movies and television shows and mysteries.

I feel like I would have made a good detective if I ever took that route and I have proven that by solving a few different murders and even freeing an innocent man who was in prison for decades. Now those may have been in a fun game where you can order cold case murders in a box where you have to figure out all of the evidence and clues to find out who the murderer is, and even to clear a wrongfully convicted innocent man.

My wife and I just solved another case recently and it definitely made me think that I was ready to offer my services to real law enforcement agencies as a fresh set of eyes. I am good with sifting through the evidence and figuring out clues and it is pretty cool at the end of the case when you can solve it. But if it was up to my wife she is ready to put people behind bars because she has a feeling about them, or they look guilty in the eyes. I tried to explain to her that you actually have to have evidence to put someone in jail for murder but insisted that her instincts were good. I guess it is probably good that she is not really a detective and that we are paying for these games/cases.

Any Law Enforcement agencies that are in need of an unpaid consultant on a very important case I am your guy. Let me know!

The Town of New Windsor Recreation Department has begun booking our trips for the spring. So far we have two trips listed and the are as follows: On Saturday May 14 the Recreation Department will be taking a day trip to Peddler’s Village in Lahaska Pennsylvania for the annual Strawberry Festival. At the festival craftspeople gather to show their wares and demonstrate their skills, and strawberries are served in various forms such as dipped in chocolate, in assorted pastries, shortcakes, in jams, fritters, as well as fresh and unadorned. Live entertainment and pie eating contests add to the festivities of this traditional spring celebration.

In the addition to the vendors that set-up the village has an additional 50+ upscale and unique shops and eight restaurants. The bus leaves New Windsor Town Hall Complex at 8 a.m. and returns at 7 p.m. The trip is open to all ages and is $35 per person.

Then on Friday, June 17 the Recreation Department will be taking a trip to Citi Field to see the NY Mets take on the Miami Marlins in a 7:10 p.m. game. These are field level seats section 126.

These are great seats and you definitely can’t beat the price which is $105 and includes the bus ride down.

No need to worry about navigating the traffic or finding parking, let us take care of all that for you. The bus leaves New Windsor Town Hall at 4 p.m. If you have any questions about these trips you can contact the Recreation Department at 845-565-7750 or you can register atnwrecisfun.com.

Registration has begun for Spring programs for the New Windsor Recreation Department and information can be found on our website for a spring soccer program which starts in April as well as new tennis program that starts in May. Visit nwrecisfun.com to see the programs.
