In 1978, President Carter signed a bill designating the Sunday after Labor Day as “National Grandparents Day.”  The first nationwide observance occurred in 1979, and it continues to grow in popularity.  September was chosen, signifying the “autumn years” of life.

God bless our grandparents who fill our lives with love, affection, understanding, hope, and preserve our memories, and protect our dreams.  I pray you enjoyed a lovely memory-making Grandparents Day.
