Projects seek New Windsor sewer access

The Town of New Windsor does not have the capacity to serve two proposed projects in neighboring communities, according to Town Supervisor George Meyers.

The supervisor made the comments in reference to Cornwall Social neighboring Beaver Dam Lake and Biagini Woods, proposed to neighbor Cornwall Central High School, which is located within the town of New Windsor.

Cornwall Social, an outdoor entertainment and recreational venue, is not currently located within the New Windsor sewer district. Biagini Woods, a proposed residential development, sought the creation of a new sewer district which Town Attorney David Zagon clarified during a public scoping session that New Windsor would not accept any of the developments proposed sewer flow. Meyers did highlight the town attorney’s office and MHE Engineering for their assistance in acquiring a $15 million grant for the plant work.

Councilman Stephen Bedetti, who is active in the Beaver Dam Lake Association, brought forward residential concerns about the lake as it has taken some time for remediation.

“We have some issues with our own plant that we need to take care of,” Bedetti said.
