New Windsor Supervisor George Meyers and members of the town board with all those present recognized and honored New Windsor Police Chief Robert Doss for 25 years of service as a police officer within the town department.

“Robert has been with the New Windsor Police Department for 25 years. I want to acknowledge your 25 years of faithful service to the Town of New Windsor as a sworn police officer. Thank you for a job well done, and I look forward to many more years of you being in command of our exceptional police department. Your leadership skills and professionalism are appreciated, appreciated by all of our town government officials and our residents,” Meyers said to Doss. “So, Robert, you really are a testament to a true policeman and a true leader, and we’re very lucky to have you as our police chief.”

A special moment was also shared between Meyers and Doss when Meyers shared to the gathered crowd that Doss was once a student of Meyers at Orange County Community College where he taught criminal justice.
Doss was joined by his wife Jennifer and children Robbie and Ryleigh, to help celebrate his accomplishment.
