On December 31st, 2021 at approximately 11:47pm the City of Newburgh Police Department received a call for a shooting in the area of 124 Renwick Street.

Officers responded and located evidence of a shooting in front of 124 Renwick Street. A victim was later located at a local hospital and had been transported by private vehicle.

The victim is a 23 year-old City of Newburgh resident. He was shot once in the back and is expected to survive.

The City of Newburgh police are investigating this incident along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Anyone with any information is asked to call the City of Newburgh Police Department at 845-569-7509. Callers can remain anonymous.
