New Windsor to air digital signage law

The Town of New Windsor will host a public hearing at Town Hall on Wednesday, March 1 for comments on amendments to Chapter 300 of the town code addressing digital signage. Within the current New Windsor code, there is no present digital sign code.

Councilman Stephen Bedetti, who led the workshop meeting, shared to the board that current digital signage in the code was previously approved through variances approvals by the town zoning board. With this code amendment, this would assist the zoning board in these approvals.

Councilwoman Eve Lincoln shared to the board and public through clarifications provided by Town Attorney David Zagon that current business owners with previous variance approvals will not be affected by this change. If proposed changes were brought to the town for new or amended signage, then the code would apply to that specific situation.
