New co-principal appointed for NFA

The Newburgh Enlarged City School District via interim superintendent Ed Forgit, announced the appointment of Susan Valentino to the role of acting co-principal for Newburgh Free Academy [NFA] Main campus. She was set to begin her new term on Friday, June 17.

Valentino was replacing co-principal Edgar Glascott, who was reported to have been escorted from the campus building. Reasons surrounding the removal of Glascott remain unclear. Glascott is still listed on the district website as the principal of NFA Main Campus.

The Concerned Parents of NFA Instagram page posted the online update from the district to their page for public viewing. The caption post shared information about the regents exam administration during the course of last week that was met with some difficulty.

Other information in the posting referenced Glascott during his time working in the Poughkeepsie City School District [PCSD]. Glascott, who served as the former Principal of Poughkeepsie High School, was reported to have been suspended by the PCSD for allegations against him in providing accommodations for students during the regents exam sessions in 2013. In October of the same year, he resigned from the district under a reported settlement.
