The Newburgh City Council approved a budget transfer in the amount of $75,000 from the Appropriated Fund Balance to the Department of Public Works for improvements to the Frank Masterson Recreation Area at Washington Lake.

During the previous work session, Water Superintendent Wayne Vradenburgh highlighted groups of youth taking advantage of the fishing at the lake, which is still catch and release, discussed the potential installation of a playground and the park is looking to run electricity to the pavilion so that it can be rented out for events.
