Joan A. Crawford

Joan A. Crawford, of Goshen, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She was 97.

Daughter of the late Donald A. and Lillian E. (Kessler) Anderson, she was born on April 2, 1925 in Queens, NY.

A longtime area resident Joan was a retired teacher for Gardnertown, Leptondale and Vails Gate Elementary Schools for the Newburgh Enlarged School District. She was a member of the The Reformed Church of Shawangunk, Order of the Eastern Star 362 where she served as Past Grand Representative, and the NYS Teachers Retirement Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Travis of Durham, NC and Adrienne Crawford of the Town of Newburgh, NY; a daughter in law, Carol Crawford of Newburgh; five grandchildren, David A. (Christy P.) Travis, Scott J. Travis, Jon Crawford, Michael (Dina) Crawford and Matthew J. Crawford; eight great grandchildren, Cole M. Crawford, Cody Backus, Margan Lynn (Jacob) Lockhart, Scott J. Travis, Jr., Adrienne M. Crawford, J-Den S. Crawford, Bianca J. Crawford, Alexander Crawford; three great great grandchildren, Nichols, Lilah and Santino; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Adrian Crawford in 2009; a son, John G. Crawford in 2019; a brother Gordon Anderson in 2009, and a son in law, David L. Travis.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory. Plans for a Graveside Service at Woodlawn Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
