Grace P. Charbonneau

Grace P. Charbonneau, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Friday, October 7, 2022. She was 93.

Daughter of the late Paul and Rose (Vinci) Rizzuto, she was born on May 7, 1929 in Newburgh.

A lifelong resident, Grace was a retired court clerk for the Town of Newburgh. After retirement, she volunteered at the Coldenham Elementary School, where she was known as “Grandma Grace”. She was a huge Yankees fan, enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and never missed an episode of Jeopardy. Grace was a member of the Town of Newburgh Republican Committee and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Chapel.

Grace is survived by two nieces, Barbara Jean Scianna of Poughkeepsie and Fran Carton of Newburgh; one nephew, Kevin McBride of NH; a sister in law, Peg Rizzuto of New Windsor; and many good friends.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Bert Charbonneau; a twin brother, Frank Rizzuto, another brother, Robert Rizzuto and a sister, Vincetta McBride.

Private cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 12, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Chapel, 433 S. Plank Road, (Rt 52) Newburgh.

Inurnment will follow at Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
