Fire at City Terrace

The City of Newburgh Fire Department responded to an alarm of fire at 87 City Terrace at 2:15 a.m., Sunday morning. Units arrived and found the third floor fully involved. 

City of Newburgh Firefighters AAF Local 589 reported that the seven firefighters on the scene were hampered by downed electrical lines and initial water supply issues. They credit the City of Newburgh Police with hellping them locate a secondarywater source. 

A second alarm was transmitted, as units from West Point and the Air National Guard responded to the scene. Firefighters used hand lines and ground ladders-ladder truck operated on roof of building. City of Newburgh Police and Mobile Life were also  at scene, with Central Hudson was called in to cut off electrical power to the building.

The building was reportedly unoccupied at the time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation
